SIRA is supported by a variety of committees and task forces that help advance our mission and support the community. Learn more about each group below:
The Membership Committee is responsible for maintaining current member information and initiates contact to welcome new members. The committee also works to attract new members and promote membership retention and renewal. The committee will work closely with the Programs and Education Committee to identify member training and education needs.
The Finance Committee is responsible for assisting the Treasurer with the management and review of the organization's finances. This includes ensuring compliance with federal, state and local taxes, and preparing financial statements for the Board and membership reports.
The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for building relationships with corporations, other industry organizations, universities, non-profits, etc., and meeting sponsorship goals. Goals are related to seeking funding and volunteers to assist in the SIRA mission. The committee is also responsible for building and administering the sponsorship program to ensure SIRA maintains contact with corporate sponsors and that the value of sponsorship is realized.
The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for maintaining SIRA's online presence, including our website and social media, and managing communication with members and the community at large. This includes the development of content and promoting SIRA events (e.g., elections, webinars, SiRAcon).
The Programs and Education Committee is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering educational content for members. This includes online resources such as webinars, blogs, and videos.
The SiRAcon Organizing Committee is responsible for planning and managing the annual SiRAcon conference. This includes speaker selection, location and venue selection, and facilities coordination. Will work closely with Finance and Marketing Committees.
The Chapter Oversight Committee is responsible for developing and overseeing a program for the creation of local SIRA chapters. This includes responding to inquiries for new chapters, onboarding new chapter leaders, maintaining chapter membership information, and coordination of resources in support of chapter activities.
